Management at LA County CHS-LASD still refuses to pay all of us the 20% bonus. They also refuse to extend it beyond one year, making it an ineffective retention strategy. Their disrespectful decision means they are not serious about staff retention or jail reform – and that is unacceptable.

We are demanding that LA County stop the disrespect, stop dividing the workforce and stop creating retention disincentives. Join us!

It is common knowledge that LA County’s network of jail facilities is unsuitable and unsafe for inmates incarcerated there. What is less known to the public – but well known to management – is that these facilities are also unsuitable for employees working there.

Management has consistently failed to properly staff the jails – an issue that members of SEIU Local 721 have vociferously noted is directly tied to proper care of inmates. Now, management is failing to provide a permanent 20% bonus to everyone working in the jails. It’s a disrespectful “quick fix” that fixes nothing. It will do nothing except cause unnecessary division and faster attrition.

Parking will be fully reimbursed across the street at the Los Angeles Cathedral, located at 555 W. Temple St., LA, CA 90012. So, carpool with your CHS-LASD colleagues and join the action.

It’s up to us to fight for what’s right. Remember: When we fight, we win!

Why aren’t Warehouse Workers on the list for the 20% bonus ?
