It’s time to ratify our DWP Tentative Agreement!

It has been a long time coming but we’ve reached a Tentative Agreement with LA City DWP.

This TA has NO TAKEAWAYS and has starting raises of 8.5% for 2022 with back pay. Your elected bargaining team believes this is the best deal to bring to workers for ratification and recommends a YES vote.

The Bargaining Team wants to thank you for your patience and unity during this tough bargaining session. Initially, with the new Mayor coming in there was a delay to moving negotiations forward. Still, our team was ready to go.

Then when further disparities in hourly pay compared to other classifications within DWP were found, the bargaining team pivoted to correct the disparities. While they won’t be completely fixed this session, we’ve taken important first steps and will continue that fight in future bargaining sessions.

Again, this TA has NO TAKEAWAYS as we successfully we fought off Management’s attempts to exclude payment of mileage and overtime travel to remote locations; taking away holiday banking; preventing per diem for individual use; and wanting to hire workers at the lower pay at “C level”

We urge you to VOTE YES on this tentative agreement that has NO TAKEAWAYS and gives you starting raises of 8.5% for 2022 with back pay.

In Solidarity,

Your LA City DWP Bargaining Team:

Officer Anthony Carter, Officer Fred Milhado, Officer Hector DeLaCruz,

Sgt Mary Harrington, Officer Mike Cayton, Sgt William Swint
