Riverside County Workers Urge Cost Savings Not Cuts

Riverside County workers are pushing county management to implement cost-saving ideas that could generate nearly $4 million in savings to help balance the budget instead of making severe public service cuts. Currently, these easy to implement recommendations are facing resistance from Riverside County’s Human Resources Department.

“Taking public services away from our community is not a fair approach to balancing a troubled budget” said bargaining team member Kevin Luke.

Only a few days remain until Riverside County’s contract expires June 30.

SEIU Local 721 bargaining team members are busy encouraging hundreds of colleagues to attend key events (dates below).

“We have an opportunity to set Riverside County in the right direction,” said SEIU 721 bargaining team member Mark Grays. “The next days are critical to ensuring public services are protected.”
