Ventura County Members Not Impressed with County’s First Proposal

160 Ventura County members attended the first bargaining update meeting to hear about the County’s proposal for service cuts. They include office closures during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, when family need can spike and social services are in demand.

– Carolyn Consoli, Contract Action Team Member and Community Service Worker III, Public Health

The County is also proposing health care limits, retirement contribution cuts and other cuts that reflect the stress our public system is facing in this economic crisis.

>>Attend an upcoming meeting: Members who weren’t able to attend the August 13 meeting are encouraged to contact their Worksite CAT leader for the County’s proposal documents. If members don’t have a CAT leader at their worksite, they should contact their Worksite Organizer and volunteer to be a CAT.  CAT members help distribute materials, attend Board of Supervisor meetings, rallies and other worksite actions.
