“If they step on your feet, you don’t want to have tennis shoes on.”
> Michelle Russell, LA County Animal Care Attendant
LA County animal service workers routinely handle abandoned and unpredictable horses — with standard safety equipment.
Members corralled Supervisor Mike Antonovich at the Trail Dusters Ride on May 31, where he expressed support for members’ safety concerns. Next we’re taking that message straight to other supervisors to win what animal service workers in LA City and other areas take for granted.

“Horses are unpredictable. They are one-half step away from your foot.”
> Ruben Garcia, Animal Control Officer
You can help. Here’s how:
Call your LA County Supervisor and tell him/her: My name is__________. I support Los Angeles County animal workers and their efforts to keep animals safe, but they need boots to do this. Boots are essential to the job and will help them stay safe.
