Riverside County Bargaining Team Begins Work

Riv_Co_BargainingTeam_595x300.jpgThe 2011 Riverside County Bargaining Team (pictured above), met Thursday, Jan. 20th, for initial training and to review hundreds of Contract Surveys that members completed.
Recognizing the difficult economic climate we are currently facing, the Team is taking a fiscally responsible position that protects county services and puts members priorities first as we move toward a bargaining date.
Priorities that members identified are:

  1. Ensuring
    Retirement Security

  2. Restoring
    Step/Merit Increase

  3. Protecting
    Health Care Benefits
Last year we were able to end furloughs and prevent cuts to wages, benefits and CalPERS retirement through member involvement and support.
WE NEED YOU MORE THAN EVER
The attacks on public workers have been fast and furious from elected officials and the media.

  1. Good luck in your future endeavors. I hope and pray everyone comes to their senses and can find it in their hearts and minds to negotiaited an amiable and fair contract. Get better language with no wiggle romm for Shift Differential. Currently Sheriff Employees are getting screwed. Keep up the good work.

    God Bless you all.

  2. Dear SEIU 721
Please do not agree to Riverside County’s attack on our pension & merit increase.
The BOS is giving a 11% raise to hire a new Register Voter just because they got the results of the last election 45 minutes later under Barbara Dunmore. This is only important to the BOS and their personal agenda & politics.
It’s not important to employees and tax payers – the people who BOS represent. How can you justify that much money wasted in times where they are planning lay-offs and furloughs! In times in which every penny counts. Waiting a little longer for election results is not as important as food on the table.
