“This victory belongs to the members. Vivian and I went to worksites all over the County, and everywhere we went we saw workers who were engaged, concerned and supportive. We know we have many challenges ahead. I will do my best on behalf of all our members to invest our money safely and productively, and will continue to fight to protect our retirement security.”

“I can’t tell you how moved and humbled I am for everyone’s support and encouragement. I promise to keep LA County workers’ needs and  future uppermost in my mind as I begin my work on the Board of Retirement. I know that this is about all of you, not me, and I will do everything I can every day to be deserving of this honor. Thank you all so much.”
