Over 10,000 registered voters in Los Angeles who signed multi-millionaire Richard Riordan’s petition to slash city workers’ retirement benefits also signed a petition formally asking to have their names removed.
LA city workers gathered the rescission signatures in less than two weeks time.
“When people learned what Riordan’s plan was really about–that it would cost the city more and hurt middle-class jobs–most wanted to remove their names. Riordan’s paid signature gatherers lied to get them to sign in the first place.”
