Your Riverside County Bargaining Team has been busy negotiating a new, strong contract that raises up all of Riverside County!
Now more than ever, it’s critical that we show our collective strength and dedication to winning real and lasting investment in the key services we provide and the communities we serve.
For weeks, we’ve been active at our worksites to send a strong message to the County that we are united to protect quality frontline services. Our Purple Up actions demonstrate our commitment to winning for the Riverside County residents who rely on the critical frontline services we provide every day.
Together, we represent the first line of defense for the most vulnerable in Riverside County. We protect and advocate for children, families, and seniors, but despite the critical nature of our work, the County has forced us to do more and more with less.
The County is proposing no cost of living increases. This is unacceptable. At too many of our worksites, we simply don’t feel safe, and work under the constant threat of workplace violence.
We can’t suffer any more cuts, and we know that without fair wages and safe workplaces, we will not be able to recruit and retain the talented professionals necessary to end the chronic understaffing we face in every department. Every experienced and talented frontline worker we lose to the private sector because the County chooses not be the employer of choice compromises the quality of critical services.
We’re united in our demand that the County stop shortchanging our frontline services.
We will continue to fight – at our worksites and at the table – for real investment to restore and strengthen County services. United, we will champion fair wages and workplace safety for all County members.
