E-Board Elections to Be Held for LA County and LA City Seats

SEIU Local 721 President Bob Schoonover announced today that elections will be held to fill two vacant seats on the union’s Executive Board – one representing LA County and another for the City of Los Angeles.

“These two open seats are great opportunities for members who want to take an active leadership role in our union,” Schoonover said. “They also reflect 721’s commitment to transparency and accountability since they give our members in LA County and the City of Los Angeles the chance to send fresh voices to our E-Board through an open, democratic process.”

The Executive Board is the governing body of SEIU Local 721 and meets quarterly on the second Wednesday of each month. It is comprised of up to 45 democratically elected members from every region, each of whom serves for a three-year term.

SEIU Local 721 members interested in running for either seat must be present in-person at the next Regional Council meeting for their respective area to receive information on the nominating process as well as next steps to take:

  • Regional Council, LA County: Wed., October 4, 2017 at 6 PM
  • Regional Council, LA/OC Cities: Thurs., Sept. 7, 2017 at 5:30 PM

Both meetings will be held at SEIU Local 721 Headquarters, located at 1545 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90017.
