What did we give away in exchange…?
I hope they did not took something important like a change in retirement benefits…
Last time we sold out our brothers/new workers for a miserable 500.00 dollars.

Stacey Jones

That’s important to know

wendy valdovinos

Probably not to enforce our MOU liKE ALWAYS! We are overwhelmed, overworked, and sick . Why isn’t anyone discussing our caseloads!that is what matters ! That is the reasons why we are sick and can’t provide 100% customer service.

Jose Montes

I agree

Bambi Braunling

And they are giving us more work to do at any change in the county. They don’t even give us any break times during the recertification appointment days along with hundreds of other tasks and still expect us to do everything right now. We all need incentives to keep us going. They give us the this months disaplinary actions taken on county’s employee’s instead of incentives. We have all been going through this for too long. We need appreciation not criticism. We all will need to get in line with our participants at this rate. They need to do our… Read more »

This does nothing to pay for educational expenses, this does nothing to address pay inequities, if you do the math, it’s yet another blow to registered nurses. These opportunities To shift our culture in a significant way only happen once in a life time. I feel obligated and committed to this fight to the end. 10.75 over three years is shit. DPH, DMH, DHS, Sheriff, Oliver view, harbor UCLA, DPSS, and all other in 311/312 bargaining reject 10.75! It’s yet another insult and does NOT address specific requests for safe patient care. We won’t be silenced

John

Join the discussion…Don’t be greedy now. Nurses in county get paid very well. We don’t want the county to go broke and then all of us will be out of the job.

Johnny Appleseed

It’s up to you and/or your union to push to resolve pay inequities. Above says that some tables will get additional increases above the 10.75%. Ask for a compensation study. Get involved.

James Lunsford

I hear you union sister. So, this is something that should be discussed in JLM. Find out who your union rep is, and if you have JLM at your site. Start recording quality of case loads, if anyone has been disciplined, or an uneventful situation occurred, because lack of staffing etc. Finding facts is essential to building cases that need addressing to managers, and when we have the info., and addressed it and situation persists till we are blue, we push these things to a higher level, and then you guys exhausted and all push towards better pay, demonstrating that… Read more »

Yup to being sick, looking at percentages there is an unusually high number of workers needing to go on medical leave and/or having medical emergencies at work, and in a rare instance, death on the job.

Darlene

You must enforce your mou the union gave it to you so utilize it. If they give you more cases than required by mou give them back and speak to your union representative. You are over working yourself.

James Lunsford 311/312 RN

They are capping flex benefits cash. So the raise Isn’t a significant raise they are moving money from one place flex into salary and calling it 10.75%.

Irma Alcantar

If you are that concern brother I would like to see you side be side with me and other who stayed up all night on the front line, to strategize ideas to get what we deserve.
Please get involved in your JLM at your work site, so we can begin to strategize for our next contract.
Don’t know what you do, but I am sure you can become creative.
Be strong and faithful, remember you are the union too

James Lunsford

I was there raising all kinds of hell making certain my NAs and IC didn’t lose there benefits and got a historic a movement. Our teams delivered corroborate grievances from ICU RNs me in the lac usc staffing office of what going’s on on the floor and how behind the scenes administration uses line staff to implement such hardships on our RNs. Compared to our community RNs are not treated in an equitable way. For RNs this isn’t equitable. And we have not closed.

Ruby Gonzalez

And that is why I no longer work as an NA despite how much I loved it, the pay and use of the services we provide are under paid and overlooked for the most part and its sad that NA’s get the pay that they get especially in a hospital setting.

shadedblues

Because the Flex refund is not a percentage of salary, losing it will disproportionately affect the lower salary classes. We should not allow this. Also, the half-step increase should be front-loaded (effective 10/1/2018) and not put off until the end of the contract. I have been at the highest step since 2008–I do not want to wait another 2.5 years. This is not a “great” contract…far from it.

Elena Davis

Yay, thank you! Will an email be sent with the break down of salary increase? How will we receive the $1000 bonus ? And when? Will we be able to see the new allowance for health insurance benefit on 10/01/2018 on the my la county website? Which departments are still bargaining?

Bart

The bonus is effective October 1, 2018 (day after tomorrow). First 2% increase is also effective October 1, 2018. But the County will not implement until the Agreement is ratified by SEIU 721 members and appears on a Board of Supervisors agenda. I’m guessing that we will see the bonus and first raise before Thanksgiving, but the first 2% raise will be retroactive to October 1, 2018. Other raises, including a new half-step (2.75%) on the salary schedule, are spread out over the three year term. A breakdown will be provided early next week.

LA County ES

Where to go to check our individual table’s agreements? Like for Eligibility supervisors?

Bart

The Eligibility Supervisors have not yet reached a final contract settlement. They will meet again next week. We will eventually produce and publish Tentative Agreement summaries for each bargaining unit.

Elena

Thank you so much Bart and thank you SEIU 721. One last question, what about our health insurance allowance?

Abigail Calderon

What happened to the flex pay?

I felt empowered when you guys laid into county!!! I will never forget this learning experience. This bargaining is tribal! I discovered HR files are up there with salary and benefits!!! If you want a fight let’s talk about HR files lol great fight to keep haters out of our HR files.

Dee

What about those who are at their final step? It sounds like they won’t be receiving annual cost of living increases. Is this true? The only increases that seems to be included in the 10.75% is the 2% 10/1/18 and the step increases over the next 3 years. So will there be annual cost of living increases? Or is the $1000 bonus supposed to take the place of the cost of living increases?

Tone

Yup the county got us real good with this one .

We fought our asses off. It’s very tribal onviiisly non violent but most definitely an open platform for union members to vent, trust our feelings and process and demand our government to empower our patients with well trained well paid workforce. I urge Moreno participation. This NEVER ends!
