We Won our Weekend Bonus Back Pay Grievance with LA County Sheriff’s!

When pay discrepancies with our weekend bonus pay came up — we rose up to get what’s ours!

Hundreds of you within the LA Sheriff’s Department (LASD) facilities took action in support of the grievance against LASD on bonus weekend pay. LASD wanted to initially only pay twenty-four people, but you sent e-mails in masse to then Sheriff McDonnell, and collectively amped up the pressure.

We have now received the wonderful news that LASD has settled our grievance and will pay out weekend bonus back pay owed from the period of 4/30/14 to 4/30/17 to EVERY WORKER THAT IS ENTITLED!

Who does this grievance affect?

BU 221 and 222 members who worked on a weekend should receive an additional bonus of $1.00 for each hour worked on a weekend. For the purpose of paying the weekend bonus, a weekend shall be defined as any hours occurring between the hours of 7:00 p.m. Friday through 7:00 a.m. Monday.

BU 311 and 312: Weekend Differential– Registered Nurses, excluding Relief Nurses, who work on a weekend (i.e., 7 p.m. on Friday through 7 a.m. on Monday) shall receive an additional $2.25 per hour bonus for each hour worked on a weekend. Weekend hours for the purpose of this agreement are not governed by Article 45 of this MOU.

You have to submit time card corrections in order to collect your back pay and you can begin doing so starting January 28, 2019 but don’t wait! Act now below.
