For those members who wish to observe the Executive Board election process, follow the established rules below so that we can process the ballots in an orderly and timely manner that is fair to all parties.
Members wishing to observe the chain of custody for the ballot pick-up should meet at the parking garage (entry on Union Ave) of SEIU Local 721’s headquarters located at 1545 Wilshire Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90017. Beginning at 8:30 AM, candidates or their designated observers may inspect Local 721’s van, which will be used to retrieve and transport the ballots to the tally site.
At 8:45 AM sharp, the van will leave promptly to the US Postal Office located at Foy Station, 1808 W 7th St, Los Angeles, CA 90057. Election committee members and designated staff will ride in the van, followed by the third-party vendor, MK Election Services. Candidates and observers may follow along in their own vehicles or meet directly at the Postal Office.
Starting at 9:00 AM, the ballots will be retrieved from the Postal Office and transported in postal trays that will be loaded into the van and driven back to the tally site (auditorium) at Local 721. The ballot count will begin at 9:45 AM.
**Please be advised that any photography and audio/video recording of any kind are strictly prohibited during the entire ballot count process. Violators will be removed from the premises and proper authorities will be notified. SEIU Local 721 reserves its right to pursue all legal remedies under the law for any and all violations. **
