County of Ventura Bargaining Update #6 – October 10, 2025

We went to the bargaining table on Wednesday, October 8th and finally received a wage proposal from the County.

The County’s first economic proposal was:

· 2.5% salary increase year 1

· 2% salary increase year 2

· 2% salary increase year 3

At the same time, the County approved a 27.5% increase to the Ventura County Medical Plan.

This means that we are far from being done with bargaining and that we have a lot of work to do.

We also presented our findings on the County’s increased contracting out and were able to TA on adding Student Workers to units under our contract.

Our bargaining team believes that we were able to get this first economic offer because we’ve been putting pressure in other campaigns from the City of Simi Valley and the City of Oxnard to the County of Santa Barbara.

We must continue to put pressure on the County of Ventura so we can win an agreement that allows members to afford to live where we work.

We will be launching Rolling Rallies across the County to show that we stand united and support our bargaining team.
