County of Ventura Bargaining Update #8 – October 24, 2025

We went to the bargaining table on October 22nd and 23rd. We received an update that the County Board voted to allocate $10M to defray Ventura County Medical premium increases, bringing the increases down to 12.5% as opposed to 27.5%

We put pressure on the County, and it worked! However, this boost is only for one year and it still means a double-digit increase on premiums. We have no idea what premium increases will look like in year 2 or 3 so we have to keep up the pressure.

That’s why it’s so important to stay engaged with all that’s going on and keep applying pressure with our Rolling Rallies and with our ULP Strike Authorization Vote.

We added new ULP Strike Authorization dates/locations including our SEIU 721 office
