Ventura County faces a worsening affordability crisis, as the majority of its workforce is not compensated at levels sufficient to meet rising living costs.
For many of us, that translates to “we can’t afford to live where we work.”
Our SEIU 721 research team did a deep dive into Ventura County affordability with our Cost of Living Memo. We wanted to share this important research memo with you all as this is a key piece in our fight for fair wages during bargaining.
This lack of affordability is why we are pressing hard at the bargaining table, at Board of Supervisors meetings, and at your worksites.
