The cool air of fall has finally come to Inland Southern California and as we give thanks and head into the Holiday season there are several SEIU 721 sponsored family friendly events to attend.
Festival of Trees
Nov. 26 – 30 (closed Thanksgiving)
Each year SEIU 721 sponsors a holiday tree at the Riverside County Regional Medical Center Foundation’s Festival of Trees held at the Riverside Convention Center in downtown Riverside from Nov. 26 – 30.Donations go to purchase much needed equipment for the children’s unit at RCRMC. The SEIU 721 design committee took this year’s theme – “For the Love of a Child” – and decorated our tree in the spirit of “The Joy of Caring for Children” to honor our hard working nurses, social workers and others, who keep children safe and healthy every day.Please mark your ballot tree #15 for Best Children’s Themed Tree.

Canned Food and Toy Drive
Nov. 24 – Dec. 13
The SEIU 721 City of Riverside chapter has launched their annual joint union Canned Food and Toy Drive. Please drop your new unwrapped toy or non-perishable food donations in the boxes located in City and County worksites. You can also drop them off at the Riverside union office; 6177 River Crest Dr., Ste. B. At the conclusion of the drive, Saturday, Dec. 13, from 11-3, we will come together with fellow union members and family from SEIU 721, Riverside Police Officers Association and IBEW Local 47, for a Holiday Barbecue at Ryan Bonaminio Park in Riverside. This free event is family friendly – and a special guest will appear to the delight of the little ones.

Wreaths Across America Day
Saturday, Dec. 13 – 9 – Noon
On Saturday, Dec. 13, please join us as we honor and remember our fallen heroes and those service members who serve and teach our children the value of freedom, as we lay wreaths at Riverside National Cemetery.
