The cool air of fall has finally come to Inland Southern California and as we give thanks and head into the Holiday season there are several SEIU 721 sponsored family friendly events to attend: Festival of Trees, Canned Food and Toy Drive, and Wreaths Across America Day.

I’m an immigrant from El Salvador whose family came to the United States for a brighter future. My father’s most valued liberty was the right to vote. He instilled in all of us the importance and responsibility of voting.




Honoring Inland Area Social Workers

March is National Social Worker Appreciation Month and this year’s theme is “All People Matter.” All through the month, SEIU 721 celebrated the hard work that Social Workers perform for our community. Highlights of activities included SEIU 721 Riverside County social workers being honored by the Board of Supervisors, worksite lunch meetings held around the county with the culmination of a lunch for Medical Social Workers at Riverside County Regional Medical Center.


Bargaining Team Nominations Now Open for Riverside County Members

This summer, SEIU 721 Riverside County members have an opportunity to negotiate for contract improvements on two important topics–retiree medical benefits and job parity fairness. Nominations are now open for the Riverside County Contract Bargaining Team.


SEIU 721 Helps Probation Department Honor Workers

On Thursday afternoon, Feb. 27, 2014, hundreds of workers from the Riverside County Probation Department converged on the Moreno Valley Conference Center to celebrate with their peers during the department’s annual Employee Recognition and Awards Ceremony. This was the first year the Probation Department received help from any sponsors for this annual event and SEIU 721 was honored to help recognize our members for their hard work and dedication in 2013


Over 1,000 People in Need Treated at Riverside Health Fair

More than 1,000 Inland Area residents came to 3rd Annual LULAC Community Health Fair on Saturday, Feb. 22, many of them seeking relief from chronic pain. For those who arrived early they received free dental care, medical check-ups, vision and hearing tests and other services that they couldn’t normally pay for.


Date Fair Update: Members Remind Public of Workers’ Rights

Under a canopy of date palms and light clouds, SEIU 721 Inland Area members held an information and public education booth at the Riverside County Fair and National Date Festival this past weekend. As photographs of Inland workers fluttered in the light breeze, members handed out posters reminding people of the great strides that have been made in the workplace due to the struggle and commitment of union members.
