SEIU 721 members joined elected officials, community leaders, local residents and some of the region’s best marching bands at Los Angeles’ annual Kingdom Day Parade.
The parade was held under sunny skies on January 16, which is the federally recognized Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Participants included members of all of SEIU 721’s member caucuses.
“This was a terrific way for us to honor Dr. King’s legacy and his commitment to social and economic justice,” said Simboa Wright, an LA City wastewater collection worker who chairs SEIU 721’s African American caucus.
