Support the L.A. Women Fasting for $15 this Wednesday at L.A. City Hall

L.A. Women have taken over City Hall’s doorstep in a 15-day fast demanding a $15 minimum wage in Los Angeles! Today is day 12 of women going without food and standing strong outside of City Hall’s doorstep. The brave L.A. women include mothers, fast food workers, attorneys, labor leaders, clergy and advocates.

Raise Up ALL of LA County

On April 15, we called on the Board of Supervisors to strengthen public services and end poverty wages. The wages working families are being paid are completely out of balance with what people need to survive.

Why I’m Fighting for Social and Economic Justice and You Should Too

My name is Barbara Hunter. I’m a single mom of two. I work for the City of Riverside and I am a proud union member of SEIU Local 721. I want to tell you why I support the National Fight for $15 and why I think we need it here in the Inland region and in Southern California.

I make just a little more than $15 an hour and it’s a struggle for me to make ends meet. Every week I have to make difficult choices about where to spend my hard earned money. The price of gas, milk, and healthcare – they all keep going up.

Dr. Kings Legacy Lives On Today

SEIU Local 721 recognizes that the call for racial justice is irrevocably connected to labor’s call for economic and social justice.
