Elected Member Leaders Set To Continue the Local’s Commitment to Lifting Up Working Families and Strengthening the Voice of Workers Across Southern California
A secret ballot election for the offices of President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and forty (40) Executive Board member seats, is being conducted by mail.
SEIU members from all over the United States and Canada will participate in the SEIU Convention in Detroit, Michigan from May 20-24, 2016. The SEIU Convention is held every four years.
The win puts a capstone on a year’s worth of grassroots organizing by ‘Pasadenans for a Livable Wage,’ a coalition that includes SEIU 721 and our Fight for 15 LA, low-wage workers and fellow unions, religious leaders, and other community partners working to push the city to $15.
Holiday hours at all SEIU 721 offices will be modified. All offices will close at 1 p.m. on Christmas and New Year’s Eve; closed on Christmas and New Year’s days. Have a Happy and Healthy Holiday.
City workers have proven that we can beat back any concession that hurts working families and the city we care for. We look forward to continue working with our city leaders so that together we can take even more steps to Fix LA.
Both SEIU 721 and the International have committed to continue providing mental and support services as the workers try to move forward after this traumatic event.
LA City workers vote to ratify a winning contract! With a 94% YES vote SEIU 721 members overwhelmingly voted for a contract that protects good middle-class jobs and restores vital community services.
