On Labor Day hundreds of SEIU 721 members, families and community allies, marched in Los Angeles and Santa Barbara to celebrate all that is good and strong about being in a union. Other groups held picnics and rallies in celebration of the work we have achieved, and the challenges we have before us.
SEIU Local 721 members will be receiving further information including details of tentative agreement, ballots and voting instructions via mail. Members should also be on the look out for their worksite organizers in the coming weeks.
SEIU Local 721 Adjuncts at Whittier College just ratified their first union contract.
L.A. County’s Eligibility Workers have had enough! They are mobilizing and plan to show up in full-force on June 22nd during the L.A. County Board of Supervisor’s budget vote to make the call for “More Faces, Less Cases!”
Local 721 made the conscious decision of supporting the Fight for $15 because raising the wage floor for all working families provides the local better tools to negotiate up for all of its members.

“In the last 48 hours, the SEIU 721 bargaining team and our Fix LA community partners have finally witnessed some movement at the bargaining table. For that reason we have decided to not initiate a strike today. However, key issues for our members and the communities they serve must still be fully addressed.
Overwhelming 86% yes vote for a strike and full backing from community leaders and clergy allows 10,000 members to escalate their fight with rallying cry “Our Streets, Not Wall Street!”
