Riverside Team Begins Contract Bargaining

Riverside_City_Barg_Team_2013_595p.jpgThe SEIU 721 City of Riverside bargaining team (pictured above) entered into negotiations with city management on March 7, 2013. The two sessions established ground rules and initial proposals. The current MOU expires on June 30, 2013.
In preparation for contract negotiations, the team reviewed member surveys and identified the following bargaining priorities:
• maintain retirement security
• safeguard health care benefits
• meet the challenges of new state laws that mandate pension reform

Take Action
In the past, the bargaining team has been able to prevent cuts to wages, benefits and CalPERS retirement through member support. This year is no different. Join the Contract Action Team (CAT) where you can help update city of Riverside members on what is happening at the table and important worksite meetings. Contact a bargaining team member, your worksite organizer or the 721 Member Connection to become a CAT today.
The next bargaining session will take place on Thursday, March 14.
