Unity Breaks at DHS Are Building Momentum!

Just last week, members at Harbor-UCLA Medical Center joined in on the unity breaks that have been scheduled throughout the County. To date, unity breaks have been held in High Desert, South Valley, and Harbor-UCLA Medical Center members are also saying Not One More!


On Pace for an Even Bigger Win for LA County DPSS Workers!

Last year L.A. County’s Eligibility Workers (EW) decided they had enough with the outrageous number of cases per EW and they mobilized to bring lasting changes and won an additional 200 plus EWs. Now comes the news of EW’s setting themselves for an even bigger victory– LA County CEO Employee Relations Department has agreed to coordinate a meeting between SEIU 721 members and DPSS officials in the next 45 days to settle the caseload crisis once and for all.


High Desert Frontline Care Workers Break the Silence

in a moving display of solidarity and support, High Desert Regional Health Center 721 members forged ahead with the first of several unity breaks set to take place during the next 30 days to keep Dr. Mitch Katz honest to his pledge of taking corrective actions to tackle the escalating bully problem.

SEIU members from all over the United States and Canada will participate in the SEIU Convention in Detroit, Michigan from May 20-24, 2016. The SEIU Convention is held every four years.

The win puts a capstone on a year’s worth of grassroots organizing by ‘Pasadenans for a Livable Wage,’ a coalition that includes SEIU 721 and our Fight for 15 LA, low-wage workers and fellow unions, religious leaders, and other community partners working to push the city to $15.
